Michael and Carole Ann Paquette    Â
Michael took a direct path to the auto body industry, graduating from Thomas Edison with a diploma in auto body repair in 1980. He began his career in the auto body industry as an apprentice, learning all aspects of the auto body industry: body repair, frame straightening, painting, towing, etc. By 1984 Michael was a bodyman and by the mid 1980’s he was custom painting motorcycles.  In 1992 while working in a large volume, twenty thousand square foot repair facility, he was promoted to management. While in management Michael moved right up the ladder from Parts Manager to Production Manager to Claims Manager to General Manager. In 2000 Michael became a New York State licensed Independent Adjuster. Michael maintained his management position until he purchased an independent appraisal franchise in 2003.  He has been in the auto body repair industry for almost thirty-five years.
Carole Ann’s path was not so direct. She graduated college with a Master of Science. Through the years she has worked in politics, aeronautics, education, real estate, and construction and has a background in community outreach, accounting, business, sales and marketing.  Since opening Wallkill Body Shop and Glass, she has taken extensive industry training in auto body repair. She holds I-Car Platinum Certifications in Refinishing and Estimating.  She has also completed environmental safety classes and holds certificates in Environmental Collision Pollution Prevention, Collision Safety, and the Supervisor’s Course. Carole Ann is a member of WIN, Women’s Industry Network. In 2010 she was recognized by The National Association of Professional Women as demonstrating excellence and dedication within her profession.
After several years of Michael commuting and Carole Ann’s work-week including weekends, Michael and Carole Ann decided the best thing for their family would be to purchase a local shop and become business partners.  Their dream was realized in July 2008 when they opened Wallkill Body Shop & Glass Inc.
